Aston Villa vs Fulham Preview: Villa’s Goal Drought vs Fulham’s Winning Run

Can Fulham break their Villa Park curse, or will the Villans finally grab their first win of the season?

Villa fans are restless. No wins in their first five games, goals harder to find than a pint on matchday, and sitting 18th in the table. Fulham, meanwhile, have quietly built momentum with back-to-back wins. History says Villa usually dominate this fixture — but right now, form screams otherwise. Could Fulham pile more misery on the Villans, or will Villa finally wake up?

Things to Watch Out For

  1. Villa’s Edge in the Fixture – 7 wins in their last 8 league meetings with Fulham, including five straight before that 3-0 slip in 2022.
  2. Fulham’s Villa Park Curse – Just one win in their last 21 league trips to Villa Park, losing the last six. They hate coming here.
  3. Goal Drought Worries – Villa have failed to score in their last two home league games. The last time they went three without a home goal? 2015.
  4. Fulham’s Hot Streak – Wins over Leeds and Brentford mean they’re chasing three straight Premier League victories for the first time in over a year.
  5. Villa’s Miserable Start – One goal scored in five matches. This is their worst league start since 1969–70.

Win Probability

  • Aston Villa: 42%
  • Draw: 30%
  • Fulham: 28%

Villa are slight favourites at home, but if Fulham smell blood, this could flip fast.

Standings Check

  • Aston Villa: 18th place (3 points, winless, flirting with relegation).
  • Fulham: 8th place (8 points, chasing the top half, just three behind the Champions League spots).

The pressure is all on Villa. Lose again, and it’s crisis mode in Birmingham.
